uhm, i dont think theyre faster but they have good stamina like TBs. people do race them but its not quite as popular.

yeah the fastest …
yeah the fastest are usually quarter horses but they cant maintain that speed for long distances. they have short bursts of speed but their speed quickly dies down. thoroughbreds arny quite as fast but can keep a steady pace for longer distances. thats why when you race a quarter horse and a thoroughbred its not usualy a fair race. the quarter horse will start out in the lead and the TB will be close behind and when the QH dies down then the TB will get ahead and sometimes wins.

Dont see the problem in whipping a horse to make it go faster. If I put money on a race I expect the jockey to give it a fair beating so it goes at max speed.

It all depends on the horse and distance. I’ve seen Quarter Horse/Thoroughbred match races go either way. Sometimes the TB wins, sometimes the QH. QH tend to run better at shorter distances and with TB’s it depends on the horse.

I don’t agree, I mean, horses who don’t enjoy it never gets good at it and aren’t raced any more, and of you use the crop too much you get disqualified. It’s a tough sport, but definitely not nasty or cruel. They were born to run and if they weren’t able do drain their energy they wouldn’t be happy horses.
