    …but the biggest …
…but the biggest fault, in my opinion, is that they highlight signature kicks in each style that mislead the audience by encouraging stereotypes. for example, most of the kicks shown here, will be taught by EACH art. muah thai will teach back kicks, and karate will teach knees. not only are they selecting different sized people, but judging kicks that aren’t meant to be compared to each other.

  10. Hrairoo53 Said,

    hmm, first of all, …
hmm, first of all, don’t go taking fight science too seriously. as far as their testing goes, many scientists, martial artists, and viewers have criticized how they have conducted these tests.

one of the criticisms was the size of the punchers. one physicist suggested including a weight to force ratio.

another was the selection of martial arts being biased towards asian and american arts and ignoring the european ones…

  11. AllenM23 Said,

To me, a kick is an …
To me, a kick is an attack using any part of the leg below the knee (shin, instep, heel, ball of foot). A Muay Thai knee strike is not a kick in my view. A better measure of Muay Thai’s kicking power is a kick to the rips or quads, kicks that Muay Thai guys are known for. In legit kicking, edge goes to TKD. I am no martial artist, just my opinion, so please correct me if I am wrong in my view.

  12. AllenM23 Said,

    Love this show. …
Love this show. However, with this episode I see some glaring issues. First off, the punch test was not fair. The biggest guy was the boxer and the smallest guy was the kung fu artist. Naturally the bigger you are, the harder you will punch. Would have been more accurate if all the fighters were similar height and weight. Second, the kicking test. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t consider a knee strike to be a kick. Two different attacks in my opinion.
